Intro to Enjoying Walt Disney World with a Toddler
Hi everyone. It’s Tyler here from TheTravelingToddler.com. So you’ve probably been reading my articles about our recent Disney (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/) trip, such as my top Disney attractions and top NOT Disney attractions as well as my Pop Century review. Today I’m going to give you The 3 Most Important Tips for Enjoying Walt Disney World with a Toddler.
Pack a stroller
Even if your toddler never uses a stroller, I guarantee that he’s never had to walk the distances required at Disney World. It’s totally normal to walk 5 miles during a day at Disney.
You don’t need a fancy stroller, but one that reclines for napping and folds easily to carry on Disney transportation is a must.
Maintain your normal routine
Despite the excitement of Disney, don’t overlook your toddler’s routine needs: diaper changes, naps, feedings. Structuring your fun around your toddler’s normal routine, rather than the other way around, will pay off immensely.
Make the Magic Kingdom your main park
With more toddler friendly attractions than the other 3 parks combined, the Magic Kingdom is the most enjoyable park for a toddler and should be the most visited park in your schedule.
Summary
I hope you enjoyed my Tips for Enjoying Disney World with a Toddler.

The worst Disney park has to be Hollywood studios. The toy story ride was the only thing for a toddler to do and the wait was over 2 hours long. Don’t make the same mistake we did stick with magic kingdom
I completely agree. Hollywood Studios is currently the worst park for toddlers. I actually have a Hollywood Studios review with tips and strategies for getting the most out of it if you decide to go there.
We’re planning a trip to Disney for this year. We’re pretty flexible with our dates since the kids aren’t in school yet. Any particularly good times to go?
If you have no date restrictions, I would go around march or September. That’s typically when we go. Weather tends to be reasonable and crowds are minimal. Just avoid any holidays like Labor Day or spring break.
Our most recent trip, we didn’t even go to Hollywood Studios. We spent most of our trip at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom (Pandora)
We’ve only been to pandora once. I’m not sure how attractive the land is to toddlers though. The landscape is beautiful, especially at night, but I’m not sure how much a toddler appreciates that. Tyler enjoyed the boat ride, but it was fairly short (only about 5 minutes). Although rider swap is available for Flights of Passage, the entire experience takes about 45 minutes so for 2 adults doing rider swap, the toddler is just sitting around for 1.5 hours. And while I enjoyed the food at the Canteen, it might not be appealing to picky children (or adults for that matter)
Good info.
